LOGLINE

Left with nothing after her husband of 40 years walks out, a 70-year-old hairdresser returns to work at

a senior community salon. Through the astonishing, untold survival stories of her elderly clients—from Ted Bundy encounters to rock-and-roll tours—she charts a radical journey from total erasure to becoming

a guiding light for others.

SYNOPSIS

At seventy, Sharon is starting over. When her 40-year marriage ended, she wasn't just heartbroken—she was systemically erased. Because everything she had was in her husband's name, she had no credit history and no financial identity. On paper, she didn't exist. She couldn't even rent an apartment without a co-signer.

Paradoxically, she comes out of retirement to return to her old job at a small salon inside

a retirement community, expecting a quiet routine. But it is in the chair where the real transformation happens. As Sharon cuts hair, her clients open up in ways they rarely do anywhere else. One reveals diaries from two personal encounters with Ted Bundy. A second recalls life on the road as a tour manager for Linda Ronstadt. A third woman shares her real-time fight for a presidential clemency that could free her son from two life sentences plus twenty years.

Then, a new client walks in reeling from a "grey divorce"—the exact same late-in-life devastation Sharon survived. Through her, the film exposes a growing epidemic of older women left financially and emotionally broken, and Sharon becomes a lifeline.

While she talks about being baptized in a coffin and ending up in jail for refusing to snitch on

a friend, we watch her daily routine—opening the salon, prepping her tools, sweeping the floor. Beyond the chair, we follow her to dance class, to church, and to the podium where she now gives speeches about starting over.

Mirror Talk is an intimate, observational look at a woman left with absolutely nothing, yet who rebuilt her identity and became a guiding light for her community. Proving that it is never too late to start over, she is not a victim—she is a badass survivor.
